Went to Merom..8 or 9 boats out...Not much of anything from all groups...Maybe 500 geese there, but they got up and flew out to eat, and weren't interested in any of us. Shot a mallard and a goldeneye. Heard there were over 500+ ducks in the "employee" area of the lake, which is off limits. Frozen boat dock made it interesting. Got real cold. Motor wouldn't work on the way back so we trolled all the way back.

In summary...

"WHEN CAN WE GO AGAIN??"

Anybody walk in or was it all boats? That's about what I saw Wednesday.

I saw 4 boats and 2 groups of walk in's.The one walk in came in and set up about 120 yards to my left, there wasn't a lot of open water so I shifted my decoys and location and still shot ducks.(An OK day!)

At Merom, no one walked in (at draw time) I don't think they said anyone came later to walk in

Doesn't sound like it's getting pounded like it used to. Might be worth a look.

For what it's worth, the "locals" who hunt there a lot, say it is way down in birds like it usually does...I guess that tells us why it isn't getting hit that hard

I know it's not holding like it used to. It's about the only game it town. I don't have enough boat for the river (or Merom for that matter), so it's either wait for it to thaw or walk in

If your looking for numbers of birds on Merom good luck, for some reason they are all on the river. I don't know how many people are hunting them on there but it shouldn't matter. I personally saw about 200 hundred just driving across the bridge on 136 at Clinton and heard through the grapevine there are 10-20,000 more I didn't see. Hope that helps with the limits. I'm gonna be over that way this weekend and if my buddies back out again I'll drop you and line and maybe we team up and head out after them. I got a river boat and everything we'll need, check on here every once and while and I'll keep you posted. Happy hunting.
