DHC Travaling Decoy coming to you area

Postby Papachessie » Sun Jul 31, 2011 12:37 pm

I will have the Mississippi Flyway traveling decoy for the 2nd week of Sept.. If anyone in Northern In. would like to get together for a hunt over it, pm me. I don't have a lot going as of now, but I'm hoping to find some geese to fold up over it. Even though it's a Canvasback decoy. :lol3: I know I've talked to a couple of you guys about getting together for a hunt in the past. Now would be a good time.

I got you down for sept. 7th-14th right now Papa. we need someone to take it that first week though. If you want it first and second week-that's fine with me as long as no one else can hunt over it. Just as long as there is massive carnage shot over the deek-I do not care who has it..

The schedule is posted in the HH as a sticky at the top of the page for everyone to check out..

It appears you've been here since the beginning hoosier dhr. I see your from Osceola. I'm between South Bend and Niles. Do you hunt the river much? I generally hunt fields and walk-ins, but I finally got a duck boat this year and may spend a little time there.

sorry havent been on in a few days, I hunt the river alot (too much probably) but early goose i hunt fields between goshen and middlebury. I also hunt lakes in kosciosko co. later in the season. I would like to find more fields to hunt we started hunting fields in North Dakota and i like the fact that you stay dry. Although i will never give up water totally.

I don't hunt the lakes. Overpopulation to the max. I'm sure there are
Divers late but too many people on the lakes most of the year. Decent swamps if you can get permission. Everyone leases for deer over here and they don't like duck hunters.

Is Steuben the county East of La Grange? I think I've hunted a small river over that way late in the season.

Do you hunt ducks, geese or both in the fields? Do you ever put in at Baugo Bay? If so, ever have the looney vandalize your vehicle? :lol3:

Yeah, I hunt like 2 miles from the michigan line. What river did you hunt? I went up there for the opener and got 1 woody :crying:

Can't remember what river it was. Probably was about 15 years ago. Just happened upon a bunch of ducks while driving around and was lucky enough for the farmer to give me permission. Was close to the state line though. Someone else was hunting about 100 yards up the river from us and they got all the shooting. I guess that comes with knowing the area. I think it was about 10 degrees that day and I had uninsulated waders. :crying:

Funny you speak of the looney who vandalizes trucks at baugo bay launch. He/she slit my tire 2 years ago and i dont even hunt baugo bay(world war 3 happens there) so I go up river. I have seen an old lady lighting fireworks off there one time as guys were setting up in the bay. Also pontoons doing the whole pretend like they dont see you and set up to fish in your decoys. All the reasons why i hunt private :)
