NWI Guys are you seeing any teal?

Postby Jbriggs » Tue Aug 28, 2012 12:55 pm

Just trying to see if anyones seing the migrators come down. I have a couple of decent early season spots and haven't seen many birds yet. As far a geese the majority of them are still holed up in town. What are you guys seeing? The doves are looking pretty good though.

Thank God you know it all hoosier dhr!!! I thought teal migrated early. http://www.ducks.org/hunting/hunting-tips/teal-time. But hell what does DU know. People like you make these forums irritating. This isn't a place to show superior knowledge and to judge. If you are going to correct someone at least know what your talking about.

Teal dont migrate? If they werent migratory birds you wouldnt need a stamp to hunt them. Tards :hammer:
No contest ring. No gimmicks. No compromising. It’s just pure, raw, balls-to-the-wall, don’t tell your mother, most powerful, non-nuclear duck calling machine on the planet. This call may not be for everyone. But if you can drive it, Game over......

Just got to find the right water conditions. They were here the past 2 weekends. If everything goes right with the cold front Friday, we might see more.

I hunted NWI three times last week and we saw 4 or 5 teal on Monday, and they were all singles. We saw enough geese to keep us busy so it wasn't a bad morning. Then we saw 50 or so teal on Tuesday and most of them were groups but only one of them came close enough for a shot. Then we saw and a hundred or more early on Saturday. They were landing in our deeks and buzzing us at first light. We thought it was going to be the day! We could have easily had a three man limit by Sunrise, but then they were locked down by shoot time. We only had two shot opportunities after shoot time and ended up with one bird. But, we had three beautiful mornings to be outdoors!

Oh, did someone mention woodducks?... We must have seen 500+ each day.
