Postby mrleo25 » Fri May 18, 2007 10:29 pm

I got the new bought finally so i will be able to be a little more mobile this year. 1756 lowe roughneck. right now i have an 1989 yamaha motor that is pushing the boat just fine. New motors are pricey.

Nice rig!!   They convert into fishing machines nicely for the off-season. Looked at any blinds yet? Another pricey issue.

I have looked at a few blinds online but am undecided on that. i would like to see a few different types in person if possible. Any recommendations on blinds? I think i'm going to splurge on a gps/depth finder also. I gotta get another seat also. Hopefully i'll have a few feathers in it this year. In the mean time i will chase a few fish and find a few potential hunting spots.

I'm not certain,, but you should check the regs on your camo registration. As far as blinds, I use a mud-buddy and love it. Easy up and down. Stores easy for transport. And comes off the boat for easy off-season storage. As for GPS/depth finder... Unless your looking for some high tech graphics and detail,, I would stay away from the combo units.. I run a depth finder and a hand held GPS seperate. Bought a mounting brachet and power cord. Saved about half price getting them seperate. Plus you can take the hand-held with you when you are outside of your boat. But no doubt you will enjoy the convience of the GPS in the dark. Seats,,, you cant go wrong with the BIGMANS from Cabelas. Its like fishing on the couch. I have a fully set up rig and I'm just over in South Bend,, come on over and I can give you a few ideas.  There is nothing better than the first year with a good boat and being able to get away from all the crowds that gather close to the ramps and at the parks. Seasons take on a entire new outlook.
