I have premision to hunt a flooded revine behind my dads property. For many years it has been filled with water and has had mallrds and woodies frequenting it.
Last month the county road department instaled a new drainage pipe under the road adjacent to it, and now it is compleetly drained.
I am under the impression that this illegal, is there anything that I can do? should I contact the DNR?

Contact your county warden or get in touch with the state DNR to see why this drainage pipe was put it. They should be able to answer your questions.

That sucks. If you were to go in and dig a hole with your shovel in a wetland without permisiion they would throw you in jail but the state can drain yours without anything happening or a second thought. Good luck.

I believe, If that area is an actual wetland, The state should have to construct a wetland of equal acreage elsewhere due to the "no net loss" policy regarding wetlands adopted by George H.W. Bush in 1989.
