open water in a pond

Postby fowlplay » Sun Nov 28, 2010 2:29 pm

how can you keep ponds open in winter. i live in idaho and almost all water freezes. if you have ever been here during the winter then u know a foot of snow with 11degree wether and 30 mph winds is a nice day. the last few have been about 7-18 degrees with a bad wind chill and im still not to the cold cold part of my winter. but back to the point how can i keep i open hole i know a hot water pump coming from the house would help and work to open holes but what else is there.

thanks, trell

I would think that a airator or a ice eater would work.
