I bet with bird and beaver counts like that you keep your neighbors well fed. Opinions on beaver's co-existing with us humans is mostly negative. In Canada it's common to see "beaver patrol's" control. They stop traffic to blow a dam for flood ? control.
When they are taken away by many means the dam is blasted sky high. The 3-4 acres of water drains away leaving a brown dead zone not fit for man or beast. Ducks n critters need alot of water. Duck hunters and their retrievers need alot of water.
A weed is a plant out of place. Beavers could be out of place too. Maybe in your place, unwanted no matter what. It depends on one's ideas related to competition with man's caretaking of his own land.
It's beaver for dinner at your place.
If your trees belong to someone else why the concern? Water too deep would muck up a lease where duck food is planted. Wading would be out of the question too.
I rate the beaver pretty high where I hunt. I like to drift up on them while they sleep on the edge of their lodges. They wake up madder n heck!
#1 If a falling duck's head is "held up" shoot again.
#2 If a downed duck lays still on the water with it's head "held down" straight out and you detect ANY movement across the current or not with the wind shoot again.
