You are very close (just about 20 miles) from where we planted the oaks in October. If you are serious, I can give you a lot to do that will improve waterfowl hunting in the long run. One of the guys I worked with is a student at Chico State, and we worked assisting the Manager of Wildlife Area very close to you in planting those oaks. There are more areas to plant that we did not get to.
There will probably be another project in that area that could use some maintenance in the warm months. I haven't written about that project here before, but it will take 3 acres in a rice field and produce from egg to maturity at least 100 mallards per year. It will be a demonstration project.
