what to plant in swamp?

Postby duckman101 » Sat Jan 19, 2008 6:05 pm

what kind of grasses or plants can I grow in a swamp in southeast pennsylania. Its a stream running through a meadow but beavers have its dammed up so Theres always at least couple inches and up to 2 feet when we get a lot of rain. I was just looking for some sort of grass or something very low maintenance that ducks will eat. Thanks

Food ideas

Millets and Smartweeds are your two best options as far as a food source go. Pink Smartweed (Polygonum pennsylvanicum) will do really well in your area. Let me know if you need some more ideas.
Take a man duck hunting and he will eat for a day; Teach a man how to duck hunt, HIS WIFE WILL HATE YOU.
