Check out this mix I got...the guys voted in the blind and we all think it's a widgeon/gadwall hybrid. Let me know what ya'll think.

agreed, wierd one. you could almost make the arguement that it's a widgie/mallard with the green/purple stripe, but i agree with the wadwall.

its a widgeon gadwall hybrid but i dont think its crossed with an american widgeon,notice the redish area on the head .it more like a eurasion widgeon or european widgeon more of them are starting to show up in the states now thing is for sure its a trophy :thumbsup:

Definitely a Widgeon/Gadwall the Eurasian Widgeon don't have the patch across the eye.

Ever have trouble telling the difference between mallards and gadwalls. When they are to far away to see the white wing bars

we just call'em Madwalls! :thumbsup: :banana:

I would go with Wigeon x Gadwall for sure. I killed one this year and it looks almost identical. Definintely not a Brewers, those are Mallard x Gadwall.

My taxidermist buddy has one like this in his shop right now...It's a widgeon X Gadwall for sure... :thumbsup:
