Height of wood duck box/ Type of post

How height do the wood duck boxes need to be from the surface of the water, and what type of wood post do you use?

Here's a good link to a pdf on building and placing wood duck boxes.

I can't get the link to work properly.....Go to the DU website and type wood duck boxes in the search engine. One of the results will be 'Duck Box Maintenance/Housing Plans' click on this link to open up the page then click on 'Wood Duck Box Plans' at the top of the page.



-height above water 4-6 feet
-steel poles are recommended posts for mounting boxes

Make sure you use a predator guard.
