we killed geese over shells on motion sticks and Silos. Buy what you can afford and upgrade later. Look for deals. I just got 24 northwind windsock decoys for $20 at a yard sale

Buy the best you can afford. I like GHG/Avery decoys. As far as shells, silos, and fullbodies, that is a never ending war. If you are in the best spot in the are you will kill geese with 6 shells. Tell us how much you want to spend and how much room you have in the truck and we can get you started. Good luck.
When the guns go up the geese come down.

we use a mix of everything. mostly full bodies and silos, but later in the year we throw out some shells. but i do agree with getting what you can afford.

If you can afford and transport fullbodys you cant go wrong. however like it was said before you will have no problem killing geese with shells or silos.

IMO, if your on the X or where they want to be any decoy will work. If they are set on going to a certain field it does not seem to matter how good your decoys are.

The thing to consider is how you will be using them. If you have a blind or pit you can park a vehicle next to a few full bodies are wonderful. If you are like me and have to hike into river bottom I prefer shells. for geese the more decoys you have that can be seen from long distances the better off you are. So my 2 cents is buy the style of decoy that suits your situation and buy as many as you can afford or carry.
