Colorado Goose Hunting lately...?

Postby massacre87 » Tue Jan 03, 2012 7:43 pm

My buddies and I are headed out this weekend just north of Denver and we were wondering how everyone has been doing this year for geese in colorado. Any information on how you have been doing or tips for the year would help, Thanks!!

Lots of geese up north by for Collins. An large spread of decoys will help

Have you heard of people getting some not in a field and on a lake or pond?

Ya a lake or pond will be great as long as it's not frozen over (which i highly doubt te water is frozen with this recent weather)

Public or Private? Public: good luck on the weekends, too many parties in too little of area. Private: report has it that they are flying east to west around I-25 from Berthoud exit to the Fort.

The birds are staying west on I25 once you get past the Bud Factory in Fort Collins. Most of the birds are in disced up or cut corn fields. Not much activity between Berthoud and Loveland for the last couple weeks on the West side of the interstate. Geese in the Longmont area are scattered but in decent numbers
