Unless you will be shooting a lot of geese, you'd probably be better off spending the money on heavier than lead shot (when they are on sale) or buying a 10ga. if you're planning on taking long shots than getting a 2" longer barrel for your Beretta. There won't be any significant advantage to gaining 2" in barrel length, with one possible exception, I've had better luck getting good patterns from longer barrels than from short ones. But, it's not likely there will be much difference in the patterns because of the barrel length difference, and probably switching shells would be a cheaper solution. Beretta barrels are very expensive.
