Canadan goose rags?

Postby REM1100 » Wed Dec 06, 2006 5:57 pm

I can buy 50 HS Canada Goose Rags without heads or dowels. for about $25...is it a good deal and is there any reason why I shouldn't use them to supplement the snow rags if I am dual species hunting and back packing into the field with blind and gear.
I have other shell decoys fr drive in field shoot setup

That's a little better than half price for 50. I think that's is certainly a deal.
Set them up off to the side of your snows.

I have only seen rags used once on Canadas. They have drawing power but very little finishing power. Those birds key in on the motion, and you can probably finish birds into them if they are unpressured. If they are like the texas rags we used for snows then they make a hell of a lot of noise with a little wind.

REM100- Look at this second link, they have a great price on them.
So $25 is about right on, not a deal for the HS brand. I'll be putting quite a few of these to use for that price.

It is difficult to fnd suppliers in Canada to supply cheap affordable items
I can get these rags either at Can.western sports pro shop or Sidney I Robinsons in Canada.
I might try out some of them..I was not really aware of the noise problem with the rags.
I also ordered a doz carry-lite Canada one peice 22" shells for $79 Canadian.
Eventially I will build up my flocks for certain conditions and situations
