I have till Feb. 8th to shoot them on the river. Going to try to go out atleast once more but will see. Pheasants close the 7th and then rabbits better watch out.

Our season ends on the 4th as well but we still have a late season in Feb. to get at a few geese. Ducks ended on the 20th of Dec. here.

With the way our weather has been I don't the geese will be heading south to soon.

im from kingsville, home of jack miners. if you dont know what that is, ask me.. i went out this morning, without any decoys since i dont have any lol. and went to my pond, seen them flying behind my bush, walked back there. there were about 20 flocks or so flying but they all had a set destination. i tried calling them but didnt work (im a beginer caller. just got the cd bad grammer today) i could have shot at a flock of snows that were right above me, but i thought they were too high, next time ill sky bust em

How close? If I were you, I would only take 45 yard shots or less. And find where they are going, and sit there. If you are on the x, you dont need decoys.

well i shot at 3 but didnt get any. they were only like 20 feet over the trees right above me. well i was sitting in the grass feild from 430 until 5 30, the sun was just setting so i was just about to leave. i was calling for like 5 minutes just for some practice prior to this. i then blew as loud as i could into the call , clucking but with long drawn out clucks. it was pretty much a hail call.. well i did this for like 2 minutes then i stopped and heard a honk back (wasnt my echo) then i look up and i see 3 geese coming right to me. they flew directly over me, i waited until they were right in front of me, then led through and shot. i dont think i put a good lead on it though otherwise i would have got one, 3 shots, no geese :( o well, im new to waterfowl and not used to shooting flying targets. im going to skeet shoot alot this spring/summer to get used to it. im used to shooting rabbits which is pretty much the same

well we went out, seen a bunch of flocks, but they were all WAY to far, not coming near us. we hauled 6 big ffoot decoys each all the way to our spot (i have a pretty big feild,10 minute walk to the bush, then anoth 5-10 minutes to get to my spot in the feild behind the bush. carried them there, 3 in each arm and on the way back i walked home and grabbed the tractor and the trailer and drove them back. we didnt get any geese :( i would have went out in the afternoon, but i had to work. so no geese for me this year, hopefully i get my first goose next year. we went back out with my beagles to possibly get some rabbits, he shot at one but missed cuz he sucks, and i didnt see one. (probably because we already got 20 + rabbits out of my bush lmao). well im going to buy a bunch of decoys before next season
