Just a heads up to anyone who wants to know Sean was ticketed Thursday for hunting over bait, he made a statement but its just copy paste off the DNR press release. He has not confirmed or denied it but from what I hear it was red handed

The "baited" field thing "can be" up to the CO discretion from what I've been told. Now, if the hunter has spread food for the purpose of killing fowl, that's a no brainer,,, but I hunted a field the other day that had so much corn laying in it that I picked up likely 30lbs on the cob just to bring home for the squirrels and deer. (which I don't care to kill either of, unless I would be starving) I've had the oppourtunity to hunt fields like this in the past seasons with no intervention of wardens authorities, yet it seems to always comes up in discussions.

Left over corn or whatever on the ground that was missed during NORMAL FARMING/HARVESTING PRACTICES is completely and utterly legal to hunt. Sounds like a case of somebody had some sour grapes and blew them in just to mess with them. You guys crucifying the guys with ZERO details need to get a life. I have friends that know the guys and they ALL say he's a stand up guy...just tkaes no bs from anybody and tells it like it is. Put your torches out guys...He's no scum Foiles.

In Delaware and Maryland, the law is there can only be so much left over crop in the field even if left by normal harvesting. I have seen them take a 1 foot by 1 foot frame and count the corn, if it is over a certain number it's a baited field. I have meet Sean Mann on few occasions nice guy just saw him 3 weeks ago. Not sticking up for him but I have had friends get tickets on state land for baiting and it was left over. I would be interested to hear both sides of the story.

Having hunted this area I have heard the same, but we all know people get greedy. From the people I have talked to there is a little more to it than just some waste grain left. I guess it's going to come out in court, funny how folks will stand up for certain types and bash others before their day in court...

This coming from a guy with FOILES MIGRATORS in his signature line!! Bahahahahahahaha  There's the pot calling the kettle black if I ever heard it! And FWIW-you couldn't pay me to hunt with Mr. Crime Scene.

I have dealt with Sean Mann in person several times, on the phone over holidays when he was the one at the office cleaning up, with his organization that exhibit true loyalty, and even had his wife call me about delivering a call correctly. They are all transparent and honest people.
There is no reason to believe this stand up guy has done anything wrong. He is a man of true character.
Personally, I would question the ethics, methods and enforcement continuity of the DNR before I would Sean Mann.

He may be all the things you have said, but according to the law in Maryland, whether knowingly or unknowingly hunting over bait its still a violation. I have heard a couple versions, one from just a few stalks knocked over, and another in which they had watched a few days in a row of birds dumping in after being shot and actually seeing bait out there....I originally posted just to question it and see if anyone had heard....ill hold judgment until after his court date, unlike many did with jeff. push comes to shove a law was broken, either unknown to him or known

Gunny isn't it funny about rumors? now where in anything about jeff was that deemed truth? Guess it wasn't but hey like I said we all make mistakes, he paid for his. Jeff has nothing to do with the great sean mann getting caught maybe he gets off maybe not

All I can say is Sean is a stand up guy...I have never hear one bad thing about him. He is willing to stand up for what is right and will help anyone out. I have NO reason to believe he did this. I believe someone stood him up. And you can't compare Jeff to Sean as no one really knows what has happened. I'm out...

QA, you are foolish is you believe these are rumors.. Foiles led many hunts, killing way over the bag limit and sniped geese in parks with leg bands... Obviously these actions are worse than anything Sean did if he shot some geese over a field that wasn't clean swept..
