For the past several years shortly after September 1st a single snow goose appears and hangs with the Canadas. He just showed up again. I usually see him just about every scouting trip once he shows up but have yet to have his flock come to my decoys. I suspect he migrates in with a flock of Canadas as I don't see him on the local lake earlier in the year/season. I find it strange that he continues to hang with the Canadas year after year and wonder if he might have "imprinted" on them when he hatched. This is the 3rd and possibly 4th season I have seen this bird. It almost has to be the same one. I do know he will be spared from my gun if he ever does come in. Apparently it is true for geese also..."once you go black you never come back".......
