Barbeque sauce for Ribs...

1sm. onion
1 clove garlic
1/2 c. raisins
1 c. catsup
2 tbsp. vinegar
1 tps. dry mustard powder
2/3 c. butter
1/2 tsp. basil
1/4 tsp. tarragon
1 tsp. rosemary crushed
1 tsp. thyme
1 tsp. morjoram
3 Tbsps. Dark brown sugar
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. fresh ground black pepper
juice of 1/2 lemon

Grind onion, garlic, raisins fine. combine all ingredients in saucepan; cook over med. heat, stirring frequently, for 45 minutes. One-half cup red wine may be added just before removing from heat if desired. Delicious for Barbequed turkey, chicken, or pork chops. Yeild: 1 quart.

I love this sauce on Ribs!!! :drool:

I'm going to cook ribs later this week on the grill. They will be on there for 5-6 hours on low 175Degrees. Do you rub on sauce initially or wait for a while and put on the sauce at the end? Do you use this as a marinade? I usually marinade, wrap in foil cook about 3/4 and the start basting with sauces.

I use a rub, and cook like you do..baste last hour or two...over indirect heat...

*edit-I do not add the wine when I'm cookin ribs...I'll add it if I'm doing chicken or turkey.

For ribs I only use:

Olive Oil
Spanish Paprika (the real stuff. It's much stronger)
Goya Adobo

and nothing else. They are so flavorful.
