Early Season Goose Spread....

Postby backwaterxplorer » Wed Aug 31, 2011 10:31 am

What is everyone's take on an early season spread? I have full bodies, silos, and shells. I have had best luck with a relatively small spread early in the year, but what variation have you guys had success with.. All are clean and ready to go for tomorrow (opening day of early goose season in Indiana). My brother and I will be hunting a cut wheat field. The field has been holding birds the day after rain. The farmer (85 yr old Indiana native, not his first rodeo) reports that the flocks are piling in to eat the sprouts of the wheat, not the grain. I thought that was an interesting fact that I wanted to share. Any thoughts?
