I shoot moslty woodies and just breast them out but the last split ive taken 5 extra min and removed the duck's legs and they look great and I was thinking about bar-b-queing them once I got a lot of them whaddya think? Has anyone ever done this or done something similar to this?

I have kept the legs when i breast birds and they start to add up to a good supply. I will then put them in my dutch oven and braise them. I think they are great.

Depends on how much time i have, if i'm in a hurry toss it on the cast iron with sone salt and pepper or whatever you like for a seasoning and just hit it with a quick sear like a steak and then enjoy! If i have time slow cook it on a grill on low heat then add just a tad not much of bbq or teriyaki glaze!
Theres nothing like frostbite and gunpowder in the air!!!!

I did some red head legs last night in a super hot oil bath with crushed garlic cloves tossed in about 5 mins before. they were delicious!

Legs n thighs are the best part IMO! Gumbo, Sauce piquant, stew....that's a camp meal right there!!
