Postby beretta24 » Sun Jul 07, 2013 7:32 pm

Anyone ever try baking them? I've always used oil but ad I made a mess tonight I thought it might be worth a shot.

I baked the last ones I made, I will never do that again. too soggy on the bottom and too crispy on top-almost burnt them. Better off frying them IMO.

I used cabbage, carrots, ginger, nutmeg, onion, and red pepper. Simmered the veggies in chicken broth.

Swamp, did you turn them at all while baking?

I might just do them on the grill side burner now and then any less will be outside.

...almost forgot, water chesnuts and garlic.

I did not turn them, that might help, just don't spray them with too much oil.

Don't think I'd try more than some spray stuff...we'll see. Only have a few birds left so experimenting might have to wait until this fall. All least the possession limits are looking to go up.

Now that I got some new folks hooked on duck rolls, poppers and the like I should be good. That and having licenses from multiple states helps a lot.

Fry them period. do it outside on a gas grill ,camp stove or turkey fryer.
Cut the duck when it is partially frozen as thin as you can, salt and pepper each piece of meat. crock pot the thighs in chicken stock until they fall off the bone.....the dark meat taste amazing in egg rolls.
Add a little plum sauce to the inside with cabbage and green onion and julienne cut carrots....................flipp'in good !
Lifes to short to sweat the small crap !
Lighten up and have some fun ,before ya die !

Laugh at yourself and with others!!!!!
