Side Dishes

Postby HoCoHunter » Wed Jun 18, 2008 9:36 pm

Ok guys I usually do the jalapeno and cream cheese wrapped in bacon thing with my ducks and I like to think that I have it mastered. The only thing is that I can never find a good side to go along with it.

I want to know what you guys usually cook as a side.

Basically I want the perfect side dish, something that when I think of duck I see that laying next to it on my plate.

Wild rice is my favorite as well. Some micro greens looks good too if company's over for dinner.

Some sort of rice be it wild, brown, or even a Jambalaya type with out main course of meat.

Also I like "mashed Red Hot TATERS" get some red taters, cube them up, boil them in crawfish/crab boil, and mash or cream them. goes good with the rice a bird.

second that, nothing beats those potatoes, i also throw some sweet corn on the grill or in the water.

Of course you could get crazy with the green bean bundles or something with mushrooms.

I fixed some red beans and rice and threw in some anduille sausage. It turned out great.

Also did some jalapeno cornbread.

Those taters sounded awesome I will try that next time.

Keep 'em coming guys, I still have a few bags of duck to cook up before this next season and I plan on trying most of your suggestions.
