Layout hunting

Postby RaginCajun » Wed Nov 16, 2005 9:20 pm

Im from South Louisiana and Im looking to take advantage of the thousands of birds that raft offshore due to hunting pressure. I am considering buying a Mighty Layout Boats Classic 10' layout boat. Are these a good bet or are there better layouts in the same price range.

Cajun, there are many types of different layout boats, MLB, UFO, Bankes, Busick, Man homemade jobbies, etc etc etc.We personally have always gunned from MLBs and just bought a UFO this year to try something new.I have also gunned from a few homemades the oldest dating back to 1964 that was built by my buddies grandfather that still goes out and gets the ducks and is probably the stealthiest layout boat there is.Each boat has its pros and cons and different little options. There was a post not to long ago about this anyone remember where it was?If someone cannot dig up the thread I'll post my 2 cents about each boat again.
