Gas Engine beside trolling motor

Postby Xtra_Grey » Wed Dec 14, 2005 9:22 pm

I have a 6hp Johnson Sea Horse on the new 14' Semi-V i just got for my b-day and i was wondering if it's possible to put a transom mounted trolling motor beside the Johnson motor on the back? :help:

My grandpa had that setup for years and years. I've also seen many people do it around here. Do you have any specific concerns?

absolutely.......a great emergency stand-by for one thing.....and will move a v-hull or whatever along in the silent mode for fishing, setting decoys, picking up decoys etc.

Thanks guys, Im mostly gonna use the trolling motor to quietly pick up dead ducks and decoys, i just really don't feel like startin up the gas engine just to get a duck or two, plus i don't wanna scare any ducks away.

You should not have any trouble at all. That type of setup is very popular and a good insurance incase your motor kicks the bucket. The trolling motor will not break any speed records but still beats rowing long distances.
