Postby Hoosier Drake » Sat Dec 31, 2005 10:06 am

I'm Tall but only weight about 150 lbs and my 14yr dauther is as skinny as me so what do you think the Otter Steath 2000 or Carsten's Puddler boat. :help:
We marsh hunt or small pounds no big or fast water and may have to carry it 100 yards sometime.

Any advise is welcome thanks.

The carstens advertises as the boat for the SOLO hunter. I think the otter stealth would be awsome for you guys.
The group ended up with 420 birds.

I thought about buying a Carstens but I wasn't to crazy about the camo pattern they used. A friend at work had an "Aquapod" in their 10 foot model and we used it a couple of times. When we used his, we were able to fit two guys, gear, and a dog in it. A little cramped but we made it work and we were probably over the weight limit of the boat. It handled like a kayak and didn't weigh very much. I bought the 8 foot model. They cost more then Carstens. Their web site is http://www.attbar.com/ then find Aquapod and use the drop down menu to read about them.
Hope this helps.

I've got a 12 ft jon boat less than 4' in the bottom. It's rated up to a 7 hp. I bought a briggs and stratton 5 hp motor from BPS and it works great. Your not going to fly up and down the river but it gets you where you need to go.

i've been in a stealth with myself (240) another guy (220) dog (85) and 2 dozen dekes and gear in a river with a 5HP and we were fine. it was light enough to drag thru the marsh and up into the back of a truck
