Can someone help? I am going to buy a duck boat soon as was wondering how well a mudmotor works on open flat water as I will not be in mud much, but want the ability.

To the site! I don't know much about the mudmotors, but I'm sure someone here will help you out.

Mud motors work great on open flat water. Our typical hunts involve running 1 to 5 miles on a big river or lake before pushing into the skinnies. They are operated much like a tiller outboard and can be driven sitting or standing. Hope this helps.

A short shaft one will be just like an outboard, but will still allow the backwater action.
