22'6" Hurricane build/ Pic heavy!!! start to finish

Postby bigbuckilla » Sun Dec 09, 2012 5:45 pm

ok here it is: a 1993 Godfrey Hurricane 22'6" Fundeck. I spent about a year getting this boat; paperwork ready, seaworthy, blind built, and powered. I found the boat in a boat graveyard, found the owner, title holder & got it all sorted out, paid for and in my name. I stripped all the junk off the deck. Built the blind, doors, storage, shelves, bins, wheelchair ramp, wheelchair lockdowns, fiberglass work, repair crappy patch on bottom, & powered it with a 35hp johnson. Each boat gets about 7knots. The second boat is a 1968 george jackson (easton, MD.) wooden scow, that acts as a decoy tender to the big boat. it has a 4hp johnson. The lid ontop is a rain lid and locks so no one jacks my motor or decoys. The decoys are buoy body (see decoy forum) I run approx 120 decoys + 7 goose v-boards & 2 swans. I hunt cambridge Md, and Ocean City, Md.
The wheelchair ramp folds down and people that use wheelchairs access the boat down a boat ramp and tie down on anchor points bolted to the deck. The doors are in 4 sections (2port and 2 starboard). For people that shoot sitting down the door gets thrown down when the birds come in. otherwize you stand up and shoot with the doors up.

more pix: pic number 18: the board holds the doors in one piece. pull the board out and the doors can be dropped individually (no time to spell check)

Dude, you have somehow combined house boat, duck blind, and duck boat into one unit.... You are the fricken hero. That is seriously a yacht built for duck hunting.

I've been wanting to do something like this for awhile but never seen setting quite like fix setup. I like it!

I apologize to those I have yet to offend. Wait just a little longer and I will get around to you too!!
