ok, so 10lbs of Avery grass and I still need some more. I used 2lbs of all terrain, 2lbs of golden harvest, 2lbs of winter wheat, and 4lbs of smart weed. the smart weed is really, really red! i could use some more all terrain/golden harvest to blend it in a bit more and i will be ordering another 4-6lbs.

here are the pics. you can tell it needs some more grass/cover.

Looking good Shannon I'm sure you have done it already but I cut the extra grass off so it doesn't hang in water when running motor or it will hang up on everything and pull out of the bundles. I found out the hard way.

Yeah, i still have some work to do and the hanging grass is part of it. Got an order in for more all terrain and golden harvest grass to fill it in and even it out. Need to hook the lights up and get me a board to lay down on in the boat.

Was thinking about a grass mat on top of the board to rest my butt on...also need to come up with something to camo the dog hide spot.

How is that sled treating you Jason? You used it yet?

Also need to register and title it too. Was going to do that once i got motor.

Or maybe I wait...depending on where I hunt

Not trying to jack the thread, but can one person handle this boat alone? I would be interested in one but worried about the weight. I would have to manhandle it to
The ramp am just wondering if it would be too much

You say you can pick yours up fine and move it around. Has anyone tried to load this thing in the back of a pickup by themselves? I would like to get this boat, but am concerned about it being 180lbs and having to drag it from the shore to the pickup (10-30 yards tops) and then loading it back of a pickup. Anyone have any videos of them attempting to do this?

What about a super fly-weight 13 Ft. Duck boat that weights in at, get this! 58 pounds. Built in floatation and your boat will weigh less than most motors you will use. Wide stable beam and like I said 58 POUNDS! A single person can use just a 2 1/2 H.P. overhead cam 4 cycle Suzuki (30 pounds) and plane on step with gear at 15-18 mph. Step up to a 4 Tohutsu (58 pounds) (double the HP double the weight) and it will plane 2 hunters and go where most mud motors will if set up right with weight forward configuration. I will use 1/4 the fuel of a mud-motor, deadly quite, not loud racket that scares the hell out of ducks. You can portage this rig into areas that mud, jet and air powered heavy rigs will never see. This is a duck boat with a super low profile made of aircraft lightweight aluminum and I have used mine in the rough and tough of Alaska for 8 years with 0 problems. It is not a big water boat, but we have crossed some big water with it but are practiced sea-men. People claim they are "thinking out of the box" but then do the same old. This IS thinking out of the box and it is called the x-13 Sportspal. Lightest, best priced, most efficient duck boats out there and it can be used as an all around boat as it does not have the closed cockpit and combing affair that is seldom needed.

Great looking Canoe but IMHO the "closed cockpit and combing affair" sure keeps a lot of water out of my 4Rivers along with a number of other advantages.

Next to it, the Bankes Intruder deserves a very close look.

according to their website, the boat you mention above is 230lbs. that is 50lbs more than the EBADS. and it has a 720lb capacity, not 1000lbs. unless i am looking at the wrong thing, the info above is wrong. :fingerpt:

Mine is a 1999 model and weighs 150#. The company has new owners (and the ODC is now the "Vantage") and either the published weight is a misprint or they've changed the design specs.

Your right, but I think many just think it looks like a "duck boat" if it has the combing. The increased payload I can carry is more than worth the lack of combing. Not to mention ease of entry and exit. A lot of folks use the combing boats where it is not needed, that is all I am saying. This boat would serve them better unless you are on big open water.

The ebads sold me on stability and motor options can run trolling motor outboard long tail or surface drive. And at 185 I loaded mine in back if a truck for a year have pulled it over levees threw mud and down banks with no problems.

Is it a displacement or planing hull design?

Thanx for the info as most all of the planing hulls I've ran gave up some stability for the ability to get up on step quicker.

My 11 foot 4 Rivers Migrator planes out nicely at 6.5 mph with a Yamaha 2.5 4 stroke and hums along quietly with a MinnKota 30 lb thrust. It doesn't have the bow rise you normally see with boats of this style provided of course that the weight is evenly distributed.

Bill,

That's why I asked about the hull configurantion as most of the videos I've seen (on it) show the bow riding up in the air as a displacement hull will so do. I can put the 15HP Mariner on the Barnegat Bay sneakboat (dad built in '85) style hull and have enough HP to force the hull over to a parallel attitude to the water and run it at 29MPH, whereas the 9.8HP Tohatsu doesn't have enough "umph" to get it over and the bow rides at a ~20 degree angle and pushes it at 19MPH with the same loading.
