Four Rivers EBADS - Updated Setup with Pics

Postby okie_duck » Sun Sep 29, 2013 11:27 am

OK, I am about 3 1/2 weeks in and still have a couple more weeks to wait before I can pickup my new EBADS. The anticipation is killing me, so while I am waiting I would like to hear from some current owners on how you set yours up. I ordered mine with the shelf, switch panel, seat, and the adjustable ratcheting seat. I also recently picked up a newer used short shaft 15 hp that I plan on using and I ordered a small Led light bar that puts out over 2000 lumens but only draws a couple of amps. This is not my only boat, so I plan on using it mainly when I hunt alone on short runs which is about 50% of the time. I am really interested in how others have set up their boats, motor used, did you make your blind or order one, do you put down any type of mat to protect the floor, etc. Pictures are always Great!

i've been posting pics in the Momarsh vs. EBADS thread. I got the blind and boat cover, light hookup/lights, shelf, recliner seat and boat seat. i have been in the process of grassing mine up and it has taken a good bit of grass. i need to order more and put some more on the boat.

i haven't gotten it out on the water yet...i am ordering a 7HP Stump Jumper long tail in the next week or so. i've also got a 9.9 i might put on there when running bigger water. i find myself wanting a larger HP long tail considering the weight of the boat, but when i use the mud motor i don't think i will be in a race to get anywhere and the 7HP should do...

i am "jonesing" to get this thing on the water.

Just finished my 2 man blind for mine when my boy wants to go. I have conduit running around the under lip of the cockpit with wiring on one side and fuel line in the other side. Also have led strips in cockpit in a switch to light up cockpit at night

I have been following your thread, boat looks good. You have more patience than I do though. I would have already put the 9.9 on it and tried it out.

Do you have any pictures of your blind setup? What motor are you using, and how does it preform?

I'll post pics of blind frame soon. Have have ran a trolling motor, 7 hp longtail, 13 hp surface drive and 9.9 outboard.
Surface drive 14 to 20 mph

Longtail 8 to 14 mph

9.9 1/4 throttle 24 mph stopped there

I picked up the flip seat and the bar seat. Also got the shelf , blind/dog blind and navigation lights. I run a stump jumper mud motor. It still needs more grass and I hope to build/buy a two person blind for it. Has anyone done anything to their floor?

I was curious about the floor as well, thinking about hydro turf or a rubber mat.

Thinnest piece of ply wood I could find drilled holes for water to drain and I use the bar seat to sit on. I have also used a sleeping bag when it freezes. Anything between you and boat help keep warm.

Yes I build the blind tom bent the conduit for me.

What size trailer works best for this size boat? The closest thing I have found is 15 ft long and 3 ft between the fenders. It is also a tilt trailer. My boat measured 40" across the back so it would hang over the fenders a bit.

Well, it has been about three weeks since I picked up my new boat and I finally got some time to work on it this weekend, in between hunting.

I did not order the blind and door kit, since I like finishing out things myself. I first added a rope rail at the top and at the seam to attach a couple of layers of die cut camo to.

Then I removed the battery test switch and indicator in the electrical panel purchased from Tom at Four Rivers and replaced them with a double pole double throw switch and fuse for my 16" led Tribal Whips light bar. The light bar puts out 2400 lumens on high and draws less than 3 amps on low it puts out 240 lumens and draws less than .33 amps. I also got my navigation lights installed and siliconed in a plastic battery tray in the nose of the boat.

It is finally on a trailer and ready to go. The motor is mounted and I attached some camo to a 4x6 canvas tarp to cover the opening. Still need to paint the motor and will probably add some raffia later on.

I found this bar on rzrforums.net (my other hobby) and they seem to get overall good reviews for the price. I currently have one on each of my boats with the dimmer option and I think they work well. I especially like switching it to low when I am setting decoys without the worry of draining my battery. I cannot speak for their durability, but if they are being abused in the off road community then they should last for a while. These bars are built in the USA and I actually talked to the owner about the wiring and he very helpful. I paid $111 for a 16" bar with mounts and another $16 for the double pole/double throw switch.

Thanks, it's a Thailand kit I ordered from mud-skipper and a Predator 6.5hp from Harbor Freight. Third trip out in it today, so far so good!
