Anyone tried making there own doors instead of buying one from the makers? I have a carsten puddler and was thinking of making one myself

I've seen a ton of threads around where others have made their own. Might try a search and see what turns up.

I saw a set made from wire shelving, they looked great and looked easy to make.

I've used electric galvanised pipes to build layout boat doors. They are easy to bend and It wil cost you a fraction of the price asked by the makers. You can cut and weld them also.

1/2" conduit bender, 1/2" conduit and bimini fittings.
