Any side console hunting boats?

Postby quack-quack » Tue Oct 08, 2013 12:41 pm

I've been looking into a new boat and wanted to see how many guys hunt from a side console?

Tracker, Lowe, etc everyone makes one but I don't see many pictures of them from hunters with a blind up or in a real hunting situation. Just trying to get a feel for how roomy they are.

I have a 2072 Grizzly with a center console and custom high/low aluminum blind. I wish it was a side console with the same set up. Would keep my floor more open. WIth that said I still like my setup but have really thought about converting it to a side console. My 2 cents.

i have a Grizzly 1860 with a side console, it's great to hunt out of. fits 3 hunters and a dog very comfortably even with all of the decoys, equipment, etc.

1860 WE sc Yam 90. Putting a blind on it this year most likely. Generally used for just transport. Hauls 4 and gear easily at ~37 mph or so. Turns plenty sharp with the wheel, although it does require more open woods to be able to navigate due to width.

Could anyone share some pictures? With the blind on would be preferred too.
I'm having a hard time visualizing where you sit when you hunt. Do y'all have a side bench seat or pedestal seats?

1648 side console....best thing I did was shorten the front deck by about 2 feet. Opened up the boat a ton. I hunt three guys and a dog. It works but as others have said the more room the better. It also has a permanent blind which really opened up the inside.
