Ok guy I'm already lining up my rig for next year. I hunt very shallow marsh area. I'm going to purchase an EBADS and was wondering what size motor to get. There are a lot of lilly pads and mud. Will mostly hunt by myself but may have one other with me at times. Ofcourse guns and bags with about three dozen decoys. What size motor do you think I should get. They are rated for a 13hp. What do yall think. Will be used mostly for transportation to and from the spot unless I'm alone.

I have had a 7 HP Long tail, trolling motor, 13 HP surface drive, and a 9.9 outboard on my ebads. Here is the speeds with me a dog and hunting gear loads.
Longtail 8 to 14 mph
Surface. 12 to 19 mph
9.9. 24 mph at quarter throttle
I like the longtail but think I would run either a 9 with 15 carb or a 13 HP longtail.
The 9.9 is awsome with the electric start and reverse but for my style hunting I like the longtail for an all around option.
The above speeds vary with load and river current
I am also from illinois
