LED Wiring Help

Postby sbpep » Thu Oct 24, 2013 5:28 pm

Guys, thanks in advance for the help. I bought a couple LED offroad lights and I want to mount them on my 16' duracraft. I have searched the forum and I have seen how many have installed the panel but I am really just looking to install a single switch. I am completely lost when it comes to the wiring. I have seen some of the diagrams but I am confused about the hardware I need from battery to switch and from switch to wires running to light.

Go to tollerboatworks.com and scroll down to the bottom and find the tab for LED utility lights. If you click that he has a diagram for wiring the switch. BTW if you need led lighting his work great for interiors.

I dumbed that picture down a little with some sweet paint artistry. This should be all you need.

Thanks for the plug to Toller Boatworks

As for the lighting diagram linked, yep, that's for interior lights. T Baker nailed it for fog/driving lights. I would suggest putting a correctly amped fuse between the positive on the battery and switch.

Yep your right. Throw your self a fuse in and call it good. Check the amp rating on your box.
