Just bought this...what do ya think??

Postby B.E.Nelli » Tue Nov 05, 2013 11:07 am

So my dad and buddy are enroute to purchase this boat for me as I type this. Since I'm deployed they are purchasing it for me. Just wanted some input on if y'all think its a decent deal. I talked him down to $1250 with everything. I am nervous dropping that much money on something I haven't seen or heard run, but I feel like I'm getting a good deal. I have seen just a 40 hp ob go for that price, so I feel like its decent. I have already started planning out how I am gonna fix it up. And trust me I will be looking for lots of input, so stay tuned.

What do y'all think?

haha I know that boat and the guy that sold it to you. I don't think you did bad
Red neck engineering- If ya can't fix it with duck tape, bailing wire, zip ties, and JB weld well than it can't be fixed.

If it moves and it aint suppose to duck tape it. If doesn't move and its suppose to put WD-40 on it.

It looked like it was definitely a project, but if the motor runs I think you did alright on it.

Yeah motor runs great, and he had already done all of the heavy reinforcement welding on the bottom from taking the middle seat out. I like having an empty canvas to design exactly what I need. Gonna be a duck and mighty Missouri river boat for catfish all summer. I have a buddy with an awesome tig welder and we are going to town on it when I get home. Plan on installing a locking gun box. Has anyone ever used a truck bed tool box for this? Are they too heavy? Or has anyone fabricated one?

Lol yeah I'm from missouri originally, friends with the guy that sold it. The engine runs fine I was the one that got it running and mounted it on there.

Yikes!!! After reading your signature not sure I'd want anything you've fixed! Haha

Good luck with the boat sounds like a good start.
