Thanks in advance if you're taking your time to read.

I'm currently in the market to put together a boat. What a good setup for a new guy not trying to blow his load but also not trying to get trash. I've been looking at all the different manufactures jon boats. I would say 16' is about as small as I would want and no bigger than 18'? also I'll be mainly in a tidal marsh so is a mud motor really needed? Could I just stay where I know I can get in and out no matter what tide? Thanks for any info. I know trying to get people to respond on this forum is like pulling teeth.
