Will a 25hp four stroke honda be enough motor for this boat?

I asked the same question about my 1652 g3. It's on page 4 here if you want to skim through it. Needless to say I pulled the trigger on a 40hp after all the input.

I have a 1652 grizzly with a 25 merc 4 stroke. I wish like hell I had a 40hp. It is very sluggish and wont even plane off with a full load .

I tried like hell to convince myself that the 25 would be sufficient, as it was way cheaper, but in the end I wanted something I'd be happy with for years down the road. A little more upfront to be happier later.

at least a 40hp to perform well if you wanna go fast 60hp.
Red neck engineering- If ya can't fix it with duck tape, bailing wire, zip ties, and JB weld well than it can't be fixed.

If it moves and it aint suppose to duck tape it. If doesn't move and its suppose to put WD-40 on it.

I purchased a 2014 G3 1548DK. It came with a 20hp 4 stroke yamaha. It would not plane off. Put a hydro foil on. Still not planning. Have taken it back to dealer and contacted G3. They can resolve the problem or keep boat and I will buy something that functions properly. So, I would say go with at least a 40hp.

A VW will get the job done very slowly, but a Corvette will kick azz and you will have fun doing it.

If you drive less than mile go for 25 HP. More than that, 40-60 HP.

How is it the dealer or the manufacturers problem that the boat is underpowered? I'm not trying to be snide, just trying to see why they will take it back if the boat is just simply underpowered.

After purchasing boat, saw video preview of same boat, G3 advertises boat comes with either 25 or 40 on it. Not a 20. So why mine came with a 20, I don't know. Took boat back and left for mechanic to look at. Was looking at other duck boats they had for sale. An 1860DK G3, side console with a 30 hp jet drive. So basically that boat is pushing pushing about 17 hp. The place I purchased from are selling UNDERPOWERED boats. I guess to keep inventory flowing.
