POD's with a Merc Jet?

Postby Rutin » Thu Jun 19, 2014 6:59 am

Is it possible to put pods on my new boat, it has a Merc 60/40 jet? I want something for the dog to get in and out off of but I don't want to affect performance. I was just going to get a simple dog ramp but would there be any benefit to pods?

If that's the only reason you have to add something, get the dog ramp/steps.

I got on a kick wanting a way to get the dog in easier. I opted for not having any anything else to **** with. Much easier to just get his paws on the gunnel and put your hand on top of his head.

My buddy runs pods on his merc 90/65 on a 16. It runs great with pods. Your dog should be able to use the pods to get in the boat in the shallows. Add rubber on the tops of pods so he has some traction to pull up.

Right now this is what I do! ^^
I just thought it would be beneficial to raise the back of the boat for shallower water AND use them as a dog ramp.
