I have got a 14-1/2 foot semi v and a MB HD Hunter, is that too much motor for that boat?

Weight on the back end on that short of boat you might have planing issues or problems with it porpusing. Might also end up with water over the transom if u stop to quick. I have a mod v 1448 and was told by dealers and others with experience not to do it. I was gonna drop a x25 prodrive on it. I'm gonna spend the money and upgrade my hull to a 16 ft excel most likely and run my beavertail long tail on it for a yr. 20hp beavertail should push it 15mph plenty to get me by this season. The boats big enough to get a x36 prodrive rather than the 25hp. In the long run I will be happier with the set up than trying to make due with my current hull and over power it. plus I can go bigger with the power plant in the end.
