Added accessories to boat?

Postby ltglock » Fri Jun 03, 2005 9:53 am

I was wanting to add some seats, battery cases, gun holders to my jon boat!! I was wondering if you can drill into the bench seats with no problems? Also, has anyone added things like this to their boats? What has worked and what has not?

:help:

You oughta be able to drill into the bench seats with no problem, just be sure to drill a pilot hole & use self tappin' screws.

Self Tappers

Postby Elmer Fudd » Fri Jun 03, 2005 9:02 pm

Mounted all my swivel bases using self tappers but I used marine grade plywood mounted it to the aluminum bench then mounted the swivels to the plywood.
Also note that the swivel bases from Action had a recall and If you bought them from Cabelas they with replace them for free, shipping included.
This happened to me and I just got the replacements this week.

We have drilled holes for a fish finder and had no problems.
