My boy and I took out our DH sneak boat we built for its maiden voyage a couple of weeks ago. We grassed it in at about 4:30am. at about 6:30 we could feel something pushing on the boat, all of a sudden a beavers head pops up behind me. After that my boy who is only 11yrs old decided to call it the "Beaver Teaser". It took some explaining before the wife was OK with it.

Thats similar to my buddies boat. We shot alot of Buffies to finish our our limits on Lake Michigan after we got our 2 blue bills. For being a little duck they sure do take alot to put down. There so small they find every whole in your shot pattern. (We almost always are shooting decoyig birds under 20 yrds so no-one get your panties in a bunch about taking too long of shots at passing birds.) So we are always chacing cripples that are diving all over the place. So we named it the Buff Diver.

I spend half my time chasing redfish and the other half chasing ducks, so my Gheenoe is "Heads n' Tails"

I tend to hunt out of really small boats so I named mine "SS. MINNOW II"

I attempted to take my boat out for it's first trip and when I got to the boat ramp the batteries were dead. I had charged them thoroughly for days in advance, but they only held enough charge to crank the motor for a split second. Then on the way home I got cut off and ended up running the trailer into and up onto the curb - thus blowing out a hub and bending the axle on the trailer.

I am thinking about naming her "Rocky Start".

One of my hunting partners (my 9 year old Son) named her. She's still a work in progress. Hope to have her done in the next two weeks...

Mine is named "Katy" only because it came with that name painted on it. It is very bad luck to change a boat's name, so i am not going to fool with it.

Layout is named "The Death Sled", scull boat = skelator.

My mud boat is named the "Bad Beaver" and the story is real funny. It started as we talked about how beavers will tolerate muscrats coming into the beaver hut. We took it a little further by saying it would be a bitch if your out chucking wood all day and come back to the hut to find some stinking muscrat holed up in there with Mrs. Beaver, smoking your cigs and drinking your beer. It then went a little further when we spoke of a friend who had that problem, coming home from work to find some stinking vermin in bed with his wife. We always refer to her as the 'bad beaver'. The name has since stuck since we spent alot of time in that boat joking about beavers and muscrats.
