Banded bird reference pics

Postby RedTx » Mon Dec 12, 2005 9:47 pm

Guys I shot my first banded bird today. I was hoping you guys might have some reference pics of some mounts that showed the band just a little. It was a mallard, but the reference pic doesn't have to be a mallard.

If you don't want the band for your lanyard, then I'd mount him cupped wings, feet down or flushing up from some reeds so the legs are visible in both poses. My friend has mounted ducks like this for customers and they looked great and you def. could see the band. The one he did flushing up out of the water and reeds was a double banded Mallard drake.
Just my two cents.

Hey, did you grab the blind bag with the shells when we left the truck?

A perch mount or preener with the leg sticking out is always a good way to showcase a band
