Banded Can and Buffie Mount

Got these back from the taxidermist in N. VA, had them done for a bit, just the trip up there kept falling through.

The BBL called it pie bald, caused from an injury or mutation. This one was 15.5 yrs old banded @ Quill Lakes, Canada (had to send it off and get it etched, do a little CSI myself with different colored high intensity lights and talking to the biologist in that fly way).

At least the bird grew grey hair versus balding as he got old. Cool specimen!

Reminds me of the bear in the movie "The Great Outdoors" with Ackroyd and Candy. Shotgun blast took all the fur off the top of its head... Ha ha ha. Cool mount.
