Just another harli

Postby duxrus » Sun Jul 29, 2012 9:11 pm

Well, I just got back for the Kentucky Taxidermy Convention and was pleasantly surprised to come back with 2 blues for my birds and 2 blues for my habitats. I also got Best of Catagory and Highest scoring Habitat. Next year I guess I need to compete with something other than harlequins :lol3: I hope my client likes this one since I decided to take his to the show with my other mount.

That is a nice mount and of course a well done habitat, I wonder how you do this fantastic artifical stones. I dont know how to paint them, that they look so natural.
I hope to do a similar good job with my harlies when I get your kelp etc.

Yeah.......he will get a picture of them...this picture

reptofan,

That rock is just part of a manufactured larger one that was modified via cutting and paint touch-up. I always like adding a "mossy" look to rocks since you rarely find a nice clean one in the water

Pat,

THANKS. I love these little rainbows. Can't wait to go after them again come December. :grooving:

Yes, the Clown Prince of Waterfowl! The locals in some areas call them Rock Mouseys from the sounds they make. Never have seen a tougher bird when it comes to handling and feeding in the heavy surf.

That I am. Right now I'm trying to figure out what my deployment schedule is going to look like so I can maximize my hunting availability. :)
