Spoonies really look neat! Did you have him mount it for you too?

No I didn't. I mount all of my own birds.(But I sure will take that as a compliment) I have hunted with Pat a couple of times now and as his post said he "let " me shoot some shovelers as we don't see spoonbills in full color like these. I don't think pat usually shoots shovelers when you hunt with him but he understood my desire to shoot some nice ones so I kinda teased him with the title! :lol3: In a few days I will post a hen pintail i shot with him also( thought I was gonna get a good ass chewing for that until I told him I wanted a mounter.......still cost me $10.00 for the camp cash can! :lol3: :lol3: Doug

Didn't know you do your own mounts. It does look good though. While I agree with Pat's views of conservation while hunting (dead hens don't lay eggs), I am an equally opportunity hunter. No species, unless protected, is off limits. It's all in what you want to shoot.

X2 We don't get very many here in NC, I've had 2 chances to kill them here and blew it both times.

Amazing! I too want a nice drake shoveller in full color, we do not see them like that around here during the season either. One day...
