Greenwing Trio

Postby The Waterfowler » Mon Apr 15, 2013 9:57 am

Although not found in the same areas I had been wanting to do a Green-winged Teal trio like this for some time. In between being interrupted by some rude gobbling longbeards, I finally got it put together. The American Green-winged Teal (Anas crecca carolinensis) on left, the Aleutian Green-winged Teal (Anas c. nimia) in middle and the Eurasian Green-winged Teal (Anas c. crecca) on right are widely distributed except for the Aleutian which is a year round Alaskan resident although sometimes strays to her west coast of the U.S. First thing I noticed was that the Aleutians we killed were more bulky and larger than the Eurasians I shot in Iceland or the Americans I shoot here.

Eurasian close-up.

Beautiful mount Waterfowler! You never fail to impress with your mounts! Thanks for the education too. I never knew that there were subspecies of Green Wings.

Awesome mount! Maybe the nicest green wings I have ever saw too. I think you just caused me to redo some of my green wings to something like this.
