Artificial Water

Postby TexasAggie12 » Tue Jul 16, 2013 9:54 pm

I just made a habitat mount and I want to add a little pool of water. I looked at a ratio chart on the McKenzie website and I don't know what ratio to use. I was hoping that some of you experienced guys could give me some pointers on how much to catalyst to use and also how to make small ripples. I'm using the polytranspar brand water.

Next time shop around with the water, you can find same thing much cheaper. Clear epoxy resin. Not sure on ripples. Good luck!

I am not sure on the catalyst but know the Frank Newmyer habitat manual has charts on the mix. I quit using that type long ago because of the SMELL and pain of working with it. Envirotex is sooooo much easier on shallow pools....Now ripples are "fun" no matter what you use. Practice with whatever BEFORE applying it to your final product. Set times will vary depending on temp and humidity adding yet another challenge.
