2 Big Drake Mallards.. Wondering how i should mount them..??

Postby Mallard Machine » Wed Oct 25, 2006 2:40 pm

2 years ago my taxidermist had my first drake mallard to get mounted and his freezer unthawed and i guess the bird became gummy or something and he had a hard time working with the bird and ended up throwing it away. So 2 years of hard hunting i finally got 2 nice big mature drakes with no damage to get done and was wondering how u guys think i should get these bad boys mounted??

When I'm deciding on a mount I always look through my copies of Ducks Unlimited magazines, or any other source and find the pose or poses that I like and then either cut the picture or print it out and take it to the taxidermist requesting that pose or the closest possible. It really helps you as the customer to get some ideas and it also helps the taxidermist to have a reference to work from.
