sora rail??

what should I expect? thin tissue paper skin feathers falling out or tough skinned like their big cousin the coot?

Their not too bad, certainly not like a woodcock or dove :eek: I carved all my bodies when it comes to rails so give yourself some extra wiggle room on the body size. Biggest issue with them is the anatomy and how they carry themselves. Make sure to have reference pics handy to get the tail upright and the wings to set right. Their different than other game birds without a doubt but if you take your time, their really not a problem. Like any other though, the end result is greatly affected by the condition and plumage of what your working with.

you said a mouthful there the condition of this bird is ,,no pins and no broken bones,plus no shot up primaries ,one hole in the neck ,NOTHING could be as bad as a woodcock.

You should be in good shape then. I've always been really fond of the rails since nobody hunts them hardly, be sure to post a pic up when he's done.
