Here is the woody I got on the last day of season. I dressed his hood up a lot better since this pic. Now I finally figured out what thin skinned was. He had about 3/8" of fat all the way around it was ridiculous
I guess that's why we call it a work bench...still in progress. since the night I mounted this bird I lowered neck, adjusted bird more over isolated foot and inserted feathers into open mouth for a fuller preening effect. These are the updated pics of this mount. Sometimes you have to know when to just walk away.. 2 days later lol. Sorry for changing the pics after the fact, but sometimes you can see things in pictures that you can't see in real time. Kinda weird.

Nice Speck. We kill a lot of them and I mount a lot of them, but that's as nice as any I have done. Love the pose and since Whitefronts are like human fingerprints with no two marked alike the variety is endless! Guess that's why I save so many.
Coming up this week for me and a busy one to be sure as soon as I finish skinning and prepping these. I actually going to mount the Greenwing myself that I just shot in Obregon.
I wonder what causes some gwt and gaddies to show that white neck ring from time to time ? I have one in the freezer and mounted two other get with neck rings over the years. Cool extra character. I would like that Ross myself
I'm going to do my first mount in a few weeks what is the easiest pose to pull of and what is a good knife to skin with?I love looking at all your guys work it's awesome I hope my taxidermy will be that good one day.
